How a case runs

Evidence. Theory. Correction.

Five stages. Each one unlocks only when the two of you agree on an answer, so you cannot skip ahead and you have to actually talk it through.

It arrives

Scene photographs, the victim's file, the first reports. The shape of the night before anyone knew it had gone wrong.

You commit

Log your theory on the board: cause of death, prime suspect, motive. Any answer is accepted. You may be confidently wrong.

It turns

Forensics land. A statement cracks. The board flags an answer amber. Not "wrong" — "you may want to revisit this."

You decide

Correct your course, or commit too early and miss the signal. Three from three is a clean solve. The path you took is the story.
