This policy explains how Wild Hearts Publishing ("we", "us"), trading as Murder Mystery Party, collects and handles your personal information when you use murdermysteryparty.com and our hosting app. We are based in Australia and handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988. If you are in the UK or EU, the relevant parts of the UK GDPR and GDPR also apply.

What we collect

Your email address, when you join the waitlist or buy a game.
Account details, if you create a host account: your name and email.
A display name that guests type to join a game room. This is held only for the duration of that game and then deleted.
Payment information, processed securely by our payment provider, Stripe. We receive confirmation of a payment, never your full card number.
Basic technical and usage data, such as device and browser type, to keep the service working and improve it.

How we use it

To run your games and deliver what you have purchased.
To send you service messages about your account or order.
To respond to your enquiries.
With your consent, to send you news about new cases and offers (you can unsubscribe at any time).
To keep the service secure and to improve it.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers who help us run the product, under their own privacy obligations:

Supabase, for database hosting.
Stripe, for payment processing.
MailerLite, for email.

Some of these providers may store data on servers outside Australia. We take reasonable steps to ensure they protect your information.

Cookies

We use a small number of cookies and similar storage that are necessary for the app to work (for example, to keep you in your game room) and for basic, privacy-respecting analytics. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

How long we keep it

Game-room data, including the display names guests type, is automatically deleted after each game. Waitlist and account details are kept until you ask us to remove them or you close your account.

Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct or delete your personal information, and you can unsubscribe from marketing at any time. To make a request, email us at info@wildheartspublishing.com.au. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au), or your local data protection authority.

Children

Accounts and purchases are intended for adults. Guests who join a game only type a display name and do not create an account or provide other personal information.
